Things you must know when selecting a valve

The following principles must be clearly understood when selecting valves: ① Determine the working condition of the valve based on its use in the device or process pipeline. For example, working medium, working pressure, working temperature, ② Determine the sealing performance level of the valve according to the working medium, working environment, and user requirements, ③ Determine the type and driving method of the valve based on its purpose. Types such as block valves, regulating valves, safety valves, other special valves, etc., and driving methods such as worm gear, electric, pneumatic, etc, ④ Select according to the nominal parameters of the valve. The determination of the nominal pressure and nominal size of the valve should match the installed process pipeline. The valve is installed in the process pipeline, so its operating conditions should be consistent with the design and selection of the process pipeline. After the standard system used for the pipeline and the nominal pressure of the pipeline are determined, the nominal pressure, nominal size, and valve design and manufacturing standards of the valve used can be determined. Some valves determine the nominal size of the valve based on the flow or displacement of the medium flowing through the valve within the rated time. ⑤ Determine the connection form between the valve end face and the pipeline based on the actual operating conditions and the nominal size of the valve. Such as flange, welding, wafer, or thread, ⑥ The structural form of the valve type is determined according to the installation position, installation space, and nominal size of the valve. Such as non rising stem gate valve, angle stop valve, fixed ball valve, etc. ⑦ According to the characteristics of the medium, working pressure, and working temperature, select the materials of the valve housing and internals correctly and reasonably.
